St. Patrick's day tomorrow... and i'm mostly Irish.  i wish i'd known a lot sooner than when i finally found out... and i'm still debating the last name thing.  It's very Irish.  And yet, while there are biological ties - i never did know the man as a father.  In fact, never met him, and can't as he's died already.   So there's this big gap that i feel about it all.  And my last name remains what it has mostly always been - that of the man whom i called "dad".

But i might wear green tomorrow anyway.

Weirdness at work today.  my carpooling buddy had to work some unexpected overtime, and i'd hit the wall on work.  i just couldn't do any more.  So i decided to take advantage of the spare time and do a bit of sketching.  i actually got in a not-bad eye, and a hand.  It did mean however, that there was no time for painting when i got home tonight.  But anyway, i enjoyed my little drawing exercise a lot, and when it came time for blending and shading, i just happened to have a blending stump in my purse.  i carry the strangest things in my purse these days!

By the time my driving partner was ready, i was well into the right-brained zone.  It's such a bizarre thing - i seem to go off into lah-lah land, and can't focus on anything remotely structured.  She was talking to me and i was literally staring off into space.  i eventually realized and explained and she just chuckled.  i was very zen.

Himself and i skipped formal eating tonight - instead my son was here and set up a new cart with wire baskets and a small drawer for me - for all my art supplies.  It has wheels, which means i can tote my supplies from room to room according to where's going to be the good spot to paint.  Sort of like one stop shopping :-)  i can hardly wait to break it in!

        Time to go snuggle ...
