Busy day today.  i started off with doing art and i'm actually pretty happy with the effort.  It's totally not my style, but the two hour self-imposed time limit (a whole bunch of us visit an artist's website and do these Saturday challenges) forces me to stay loose with the paint.  In fact, the one abstract that i did (no pic here) Himself wants to take to His office.  Baffling.

pk.gif (106748 bytes)  Today's effort - the camera seemed to really blur it out though - it's a lot brighter in real life.

i also did some sketching, and want to do some more painting tomorrow.  The instructor gave me homework!  She wants me to practice painting a piece of cloth (on the canvas, not paint the cloth), using a scumbling technique that she showed us last Thursday.  So i've already blocked in a small piece - now i just have to get brave.  Hopefully my hands are a bit looser tomorrow though - sketching was an effort.  i found it difficult to hold the pencil and it hurt :-(

my son moves to his new apartment next week - wayyyy up on the 19th floor.  i am so not thrilled with that part - i keep having nightmares now that he gets drunk and loses his balance and falls off the balcony.  Blech.

But i have to admire his tenacity.  Last year was not a stellar year for him, spending a good part of it just barely scraping by and unemployed for part of the time.  Now he's back on track with a job and willing to put in lots of hours.  He's getting his finances on track, and is starting to pay off his government student loan.  i truly admire him for that - too many people bail on that debt, and to me, that's the same as stealing.

So next week, i'll be the packing, toting mom, along with probably Himself and my ex (son's father) and the ex's wife.

Life sure can get strange in the land of divorces.

Okay, gone for a bit ... time to wake up the big guy from His afternoon nap.
