Busy week.  As per usual, i feel like i'm on the little wheel that you put in a hamster cage to keep them amused.  Except the stuff that goes on at work isn't always very amusing.  Ah well ... it pays the bills, i'm still learning and being challenged and who knows?  Maybe they'll get the political stuff sorted out some day.

Or i'll win the lottery and get to stay home and paint.  Now that would be perfect.

my son scored many brownie points in the flatter-mom department last night.  He actually invited me to come shopping with him, and help pick out his new curtains and bedspread.  i absolutely love doing that sort of thing and by the time we were finished, he had living room curtains, bedroom curtains, and comforter and sheets, all in coordinating colours.  And a happy mom.

Tuesday was a particularly busy day for Himself.  And it really was obvious from His voice when i spoke with Him before He had to teach His class.  So when i got home, i walked over to the grocery store, bought some yummy lamb and veggies to compliment, a 'passable' bottle of Canadian wine (sorry - we are wine snobs), and then proceeded to make dinner.  i think Himself was very pleased.

i put out the day cuffs beside a small glass of sherry for Him, and made sure His slippers were in front of His fav kitchen chair.  We have slipped so far out of some of the routines, that i'm beginning to believe He's really not all that interested anymore.  Yet, our underlying D/s - or respect or power dynamics or whatever you want to call it - has not changed.  With or without the rituals - and  no matter how much i might miss them - we seem to follow a pattern that is natural for us.  And i doubt anyone seeing us together, would doubt who is the natural  leader, and who is the follower.

But He did pick up the day cuffs in a way that suggested that this too was natural and fine.  And what was interesting this time, was that the ebb and flow of our dinner conversation was not interrupted.  Just enhanced very nicely.  my initial worry that He would merely indulge me and was bored with all this ritual stuff, was pushed aside just by observing how He responded to the cuffs being made available, and the ensuing dinner and conversation.

On a different note, He's a bit disgruntled with me that the box He's been looking for, for the past two days, He finally found tonight while i was at art class.  It was in the bathtub.  (In the spare bathroom - yes we shower daily!)

But doesn't everyone store their boxes in a bathtub?

      Off to make amends .....
