Happy Mother's Day to me, and
to all women. Even the one's without kids - 'cause i
think ultimately this is a day about women.
my daughter blasted into town last night -
literally. She's a bit of a speed demon in her car,
which worries me hugely. But no motherly words of
concern are penetrating very much - she just blithely
shushes me with an "oh mom...."
So she arrives at my door looking very metropolitan (in
spite her disdain for the city) in a short black (tight)
skirt and black (tight) shirt and tall black (tight)
boots. Shrink-wrapped clothing - gah, i remember the
days when i could wear the same. Her hair is black
and blonde - but not in the conventional sense (blonde
hair, black roots). Nope. Hers is
checkerboard. Hair neatly divided into four sections
of alternating colour - sort of a harlequin effect.
And i think i like it. She's able to carry it off
well.
Anyway, she also brought along a bouquet of roses for me,
and a bottle of red wine. And the best part - big
hugs. :-)

Not a great picture, but for some reason i can't figure
out how to turn the flash back on in the camera. i
want my own camera *sigh*.
So then we spent the rest of the evening browsing the
grocery store for munchy type dinner foods and some colour
for my hair. She's decided i need highlights - that
this will help give 'depth' and make my hair look
fuller. Ack. i'm just worried that it will
fall out. So this time tomorrow i'll either have
great looking hair ... or be bald.
Today my son will be coming over (with a new rescued
damsel in distress) and will be cooking me
dinner. Hopefully i can get pictures of everyone -
how can you tell i'm excited about all this!
Okay.. off to get some stuff done.
