Nice break.  But lately it seems like i have no time at all to get here and put down thoughts.  And what bit of time i do have, i usually want to spend on my learning-to-paint quest.

Last Tuesday morning started out pretty err... interesting.  First thing i discover when i get ready for my shower, is a spider in the bathroom.  i do not share my naked space with spiders very well.  And knowing that i'd spend the entire time eyeballing it - i decided to dash downstairs and grab the fly swatter.   Of course, after standing on the toilet seat and taking aim, i think i missed 'cause it fell to the ground and was lost forever.  Blech.

So i gave up the search and went for the shower.  Turned on the taps and then pulled the button for the shower head and wham!  The entire side of the shower head split a seam and water spewed over my head, and hit the wall behind me with enough strength to bounce back and soak me, the floor, the room ...

Clearly the morning was not going well.  But lucky for us (well me), we do have another bathroom.  So i went downstairs to shower - but first i had to empty and clean out the tub.  Because the room is off the kitchen and used more as a "mudroom" than anything else, i tend to store things in the tub.  Like the cat carrier, and beer, and boxes of whatever.  Sigh.

And the cats are used to having that room to blast around in.   It's warmer now, so i leave the door open to let out some of the steam.  This of course means that the cats can come in and investigate.  That's not really bad - except when maddy decided to taking a running leap from the kitchen full into the room - attempting to land on the ledge of the tub.

Said feline skidded off and landed fully into the tub, at my feet.  i'm not sure which of us squealed loudest.  She left ticked-off kitty wet tracks everywhere.

So Himself and i are having a child-less weekend.  Which is very odd and unsettling.  We are so used to having at least one of them around that it gets really lonely when none show up.  Boo.

But we are having some nice time just kicking around together.  We went to our favourite sushi place on Thursday - and He's been cooking killer dinners since then.  Yesterday we had breakfast out, and did a bunch of errand stuff, as well as buying new rose bushes (yay!) and some pansies for me.  i also got in some good painting time - but the camera really is not taking a good pic of it.  i keep adjusting the settings but nothing seems to be working.  Pah.

Himself gave me a truly confidence-building compliment about all this painting stuff though - something about my work being as good as some He's seen in a gallery we sometimes go to.  What?!  This from the man whom i consider well versed in good art.  i was a tad blown away - but just those few words have encouraged me to keep on going.

So today we are off to the ROM to see the Egyptian exhibit before it's gone.  And tomorrow i'm having an afternoon art class.  Perfect activities to end the long weekend.

Well except for sex.  And that's definitely on the menu. Yum.
