December 4, 2001

i'm in charge of organizing the potluck Christmas lunch at work.  And made the announcement message for the pod decorating contest.  But had to remove all remnants of the word Christmas and Santa from it.  Sheesh.  "Holiday" was the only word that was acceptable.  So from what i can figure... Hanukah is still socially acceptable and people who belong to that particular experience can say so.. but it's not okay to say Christmas anymore.  Sometimes the melting pot melts too much, m'thinks.

On the upside, my social calendar is filling up quicker than i (or my pocket book) can keep track of.  Note for next year: start saving in January to be able to afford the holiday socializing.

The company has a holiday 'do' on the 13th.  Himself's theatre company is having a production on the 17th... then a another company company (mine) 'do' on the 18th.  Not to mention getting together with friends in between all that and trying to do some shopping.  And i don't have any days off.. Well i do, but it doesn't feel right taking them when i'm still on the 3-month probation.  And it's only two days entitlement anyway.

It's pretty weird knowing that the desk and location i sit at is considered a 'pod'.  Sounds a bit bizarre to me.  Does this mean i am a pod person?  Ick!

Okay.. i'm gone.  The holidays are starting to get to me and they haven't even really started.  Gawd help me.
