        i did the mammogram and ultrasound thing today.  As per most things in my life, it was all a bit strange.  The following is a conversation i just had with a friend (when i was supposed to be updating here!)

shadoe~{S}  15 bucks to size the ring which, i might add .....

EVERYONE who's seen it so far LOVES IT!!!

(Note:  MysticMz was online chatting with me recently and i showed her what i'd found on eBay - she bought it for me! It's very similar to my grandmother's ring - which was given to me by my mother and subsequently stolen.  Needless to say i'm positively delighted to have this one and she's now got a hairdresser for life :)

shadoe~{S}  virtual people.. who have lives.. you get to dress em up and etc.. it's pretty funny

MysticMz  ahhhh yes....your 'toys'.....

shadoe~{S}  it's a hoot.. even Himself watches over my shoulder occasionally.. although he'd snort if anyone asked him about the game

MysticMz  I'd like to find an hour to PLAY a game...lol...

shadoe~{S}  so i survived the dreaded mammogram and ultra sound today

MysticMz  how are your flat boobies??

shadoe~{S}  they are not flat.. they are a size c i'll have you know.. AND in a la senza bra .. a d! okay so that's a preformed cup however.. if it weren't for all the bloody cysts i have.. i'd be flat as a pancake

MysticMz  really? How many they have to remove?

shadoe~{S}  i have 3 on the right side.. two which are clear.. which is fine and they will leave alone.. the third is not clear.. although not 'solid' yet either.. so i won't know until the doc sees the pics..

left side is only one small one.. they ultrasounded me.. even under my arms..(nodes).. and called in their doc boss to check it all out and do it all over again

shadoe~{S}  the strange part is.. i'm not really worried about losing the boob.. cause i know they make new ones these days.. and i'm small chested enough that it's feasible

MysticMz: I think you are jumping the gun a little here darling....... they aren't talking about anything radical are they?

shadoe~{S} no..just being realistic.. maternal side - grandmother and aunt.. no.. nothing radical as yet.. technicians don't talk radical.. and they didn't get that 'look' .. y'know?

MysticMz: I didn't even think they did mast's anymore......I thought most were done with lazer etc

shadoe~{S}  i'm keeping good thoughts that it's just a continuation of my habitual fibro-cystic breast disease (my sister has as well)...

i have about an 80 % chance of cancer however, because of family history.. and it's been generally agreed that odds are.. one of those cysts will get me eventually..probably as i age

MysticMz:  how often do you go for checkups?

shadoe~{S} usually yearly.. this time i went about 3 years though.. nothing since i moved here.. this isn't the first time i've had the cysts though.. i can usually tell.. weird as this might sound.. one of the things P likes to do at night is we "spoon" and he holds a breast as we go to sleep.. but his fingers kind of move a bit.. sort of massaging.. not really sexual.. he swears it's helped and i tend to agree.. this is the first 'bad' time in 3 years.. and i've been under stress

i was going to write in my journal about today.. can i just cut and paste this conversation? do you mind?

     So that's the results so far.  Actually a lot more positive that i had anticipated.  In my usual panicky way, i had myself in surgery already.  Let me tell you, it does nothing for one's nerves - pity the people who crossed me at work today.  Himself wisely maintained a nice even balance and treated me like a princess - a ride to work and a nice lunch with j and i.  

     Notice i bolded and changed the font colour of one question in the above diatribe?  i'm pretty sure shimmer is nodding her head yes, yes, yes at the strong message i'm trying to convey - get checkups!  And checking a male partner is a good idea as well.  Even men have had mastectomies.

     Flat boobs - or flattened - CAN be good ...  heh
