        i know.  It's been awhile.  But life just keeps getting in the way.  On the other hand, having life get in the way is not always a bad thing.  It's means i actually have one!

      What's happened lately....  well Himself had a birthday.  He decided we should stay home and have an absolutely wonderful dinner together.  i personally think it was a great choice.  He also spent a lot of time proving that one year older didn't make Him any less .. errr ... active - in bed, and in front of the dreaded video cam again!

      On the Saturday after His birthday, we finally made the decision to get another cat.  The mice were definitely winning the "let's take over the house" war, and we were getting desperate.  Nothing was working - not traps, not poison and fumigating being a pointless waste of money and time.  It was time for "Fang".  So off to the humane society we went.

      Two and a half hours later we finally had a cat.  i was absolutely amazed that it took so long.  But first you have to stand in line and wait to get into the room for viewing.  Once we did get in however, it took no time at all for Himself to pick "His" cat.  

      Then we waited.  And waited and waited.   2.5 hours and $130.00 later (we had to get supplies as well) we walk out with the cat.   Did we get FANG? The lean, mean mouse-eaten' machine? All cat, all the time?  No.

      We got "princess" - a lovely and delicate, excruciatingly shy, de-clawed girl cat. A chocolate point Siamese blend.  Himself was enamoured.

       It took nearly a week before we saw her again (not counting the brown streak of wind that ran by us when we let her out of the carrying box.)  She was not buying into anything we had to sell.  Well except for at 3:00 a.m. every night!  THEN she would come visit my side of the bed and tap me repeatedly with her paw until i woke up.  And then continue this every hour on the hour, till i finally got up for work.  i was an exhausted mess.  

      She's finally coming around at normal hours though.  And is doing a good job of taking over the household, just like any good cat should.  And she finally has a name.  i think.  Originally it was going to be Kami.  But now that we know her a bit better, it's going to be...  Diva!
